Estartit is a decentralized municipal entity of the municipality of Torroella de Montgri. It has 2962 inhabitants (2015) and is the area that generates 60% of the resources of the population through tourism. It is just over a kilometer from the Medes Islands archipelago so dive tourism is a source of income for most of the year. On the back of the population is the Roca Maura peak where the massif of Montgrí born and enters up to eight kilometers inland, separating this massif the region in Upper and Lower Emporda Emporda. Estartit area you can take excursions on foot that start with a big promotion just five minutes from the city center. It is a town located in an ideal setting, with a large sandy beach, with good access and a free parking area next to the beach. Its waters are shallow so it is an ideal environment for children.
